If you need something specific
Each list below is a filter on the same data. The Lisbon map shows what is closest to you.
For calls
80 listings are marked fine for calls and nine are marked not. Coworking spaces are the safest choice: Avila Spaces at Praça Duque de Saldanha has phone booths and quiet zones, Work@380 near Campo Grande has a separate room for calls, and Heden Workspaces Rossio has phone booths and half-day passes.
For quiet
63 listings are recorded as quiet. Fable Bookshop + Coffee has quiet seating among the books downstairs and fast Wi-Fi. KALVE Chiado is on a quiet street in Chiado. Bee’s Brew is tiny, and reviewers describe a very quiet room; it is closed at weekends and its Wi-Fi is not recorded.
Open late
Lisbon’s cafés close early. On a Wednesday, 59 of the 115 cafés open that day shut by 17:00, and 76 by 18:00. Across all kinds of place, 34 listings stay open until 22:00 or later every weekday, five of them around the clock. Maria Food Hub is listed until 23:30 from Monday to Thursday and later on Friday and Saturday, Olivia Lisboa until 23:00 every day, and Chocolatería San Ginés until 23:00, or midnight from Friday to Sunday. All three have fast Wi-Fi and a few outlets.
Open on Sunday
134 listings show Sunday hours, but coworking is mostly a weekday affair: 27 of the 32 coworking spaces with hours recorded close on both Saturday and Sunday. Amélia Lisboa on Rua Ferreira Borges (08:30 to 20:00, fast Wi-Fi, plenty of outlets), LENA Specialty Coffee (09:00 to 17:00) and Elevada (10:00 to 18:00) are open.
Coworking with a day pass
No Lisbon listing has a day pass price recorded yet, so check with the space. Three whose listings mention short stays: LACS Anjos sells day passes and asks for ID or a card at check-in, Lisbon-Cowork in Graça takes day and half-day bookings and is listed as open around the clock, and Outsite Cowork Café books by the half day.
Places that do not want laptops
Three Lisbon places are listed as Not for laptops. Go for the coffee, not to work.
- Hello, Kristof, on Rua do Poço dos Negros, describes itself as a laptop-free space.
- the mill, a brunch café and wine bar on the same street: a December 2025 review notes that no laptops are allowed.
- AMUN CAFÉ, on Rua da Escola Politécnica: laptops are not allowed, according to an August 2026 review.
Five confirmed places allow laptops with conditions. Good Company Books keeps laptops downstairs and limits Wi-Fi to two hours with a purchase. Casa Casa Café has a laptop area and laptop-free tables. The Graça branch of Neighbourhood Cafe allows laptops at the counter only. Copenhagen Coffee Lab marks tables for laptops or no laptops on Rua de S. Paulo and in Santos.
Practical notes
General advice for working from cafés, not facts about any one place:
- Buy something every couple of hours, and order food if you stay through lunch.
- Ask before you plug in. “A few outlets” often means one wall.
- Carry a charged battery and a phone hotspot as a fallback.
- Take calls outside unless the place is listed as fine for calls, and use headphones.
- At brunch time, give up a large table if people are queuing.
Opening hours change, and a café that welcomed laptops last spring can change its mind. Open the place’s page before you set off, and if a listing is wrong or out of date, check in there. That is how the dates in this guide stay current.
About these listings
The picks are Lisbon listings with laptops welcome, Wi-Fi recorded as fast, power outlets recorded and a written description: 37 met all four tests on 2 October 2026, and the 19 above are drawn from those. This is a reading of what the listings say, not a set of visits. Third Desk’s listings come from research on public reviews and existing lists, plus members’ check-ins, and each place’s page shows when it was last checked.
Of the 68 places with outlets recorded, 26 are listed with plenty and 42 with a few. Laptops are listed as welcome at 188 of the 193; the other five set rules, covered further down.
Read the gaps honestly. Wi-Fi is recorded as fast at 74 places, as ok at another 74, as weak at 14 and as absent at two; for 29 it is not recorded at all. Outlets are not recorded for 113 places and noise for 74. A blank means nobody has reported it yet, not that the place has no sockets.
